Honeysuckle Volunteer Workday
Name: Honeysuckle Volunteer Workday
Date: November 9, 2019
Time: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM CST
Please join us on Saturday, November 9th from 9am to 2pm for a volunteer workday at the Ozark Land Trust's Schulze Nature Preserve in Washington, Missouri. Fall is a wonderful time to explore the woods - and it is an especially good time to eradicate bush honeysuckle. We will be cutting and clearing this destructive plant as part of a long term effort to effectively remove bush honeysuckle from the SNP with little impact on native vegetation. Besides some hands-on volunteering, you will learn about the various ways to control invasive species in natural areas and on your own landscape. What to bring: • Strong gloves, sturdy shoes suitable for working, and clothing appropriate for a day in the woods • Plenty of water (Reusable water bottle refills available on site) • Hand tools such as loppers, saws, and shovels (OLT has some tools to provide) • Lunch if you’d like to stay and work in the afternoon All are welcome, so bring your family and friends for a fun day in the woods. If you are interested in attending, please contact Nic Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you there!
